I know - let's go be hiking/camping/ backpacking ecotourists and visit some travertine formations in ARizona... Hmmm. WHere could we go?.. May would be a good time, I think.

If you want to see travertine then the Fossil Creek wilderness area is about as good as it gets in Arizona. There's also a huge travertine arch nearby on the way to Payson.

I think you pegged it, Senior, as far as travertine formations. It's supposed to be the largest inthe world.TONTO natural bridge state park I figured that since I have a facination w/ cracks I'd scratch it and go up to the canyon.
