Planning on run the ‘Con again this year and nailed down one of he few weekends when there isn’t a big group through before the rock stacking jamborees change the trail too much.

Plan on staying over night in Placerville on thur 7/13

Meet at the loon lake spill way at 9:30am on Friday 7/14

Camp at Buck island friday night 7/14, Rubicon Springs on Sat. 7/15

Exit Tahoma near Lake Tahoe before 1pm hopefully on Sunday 7/16

So far about 4 rigs are planning on going but the more the merrier Smokin at a minimum rear locker, lift, armor, sliders, low gears for manual tranny drivers, experience rock crawling. Yes you can make it with a IFS rig on the easier lines with the above.

Come awn now let see some more Nissan on the ‘Con this year

Hope to CYA
Brian

Wow, that's pretty early...is all the snow gone then?

I think some of the SWANKys have settled on a North Rim trip this year. Something we've been talking about doing for years. Soooo much to explore.

Brian,

You might want to check those dates against a 2006 calenar. Depending on what the dates work out to be I might be up for it.

DR…snow is almost all melted already, exit near Tahoe after the last real challenging section..Cadillac hill still has some patchs. The big toyota run is always around the 3rd week in june, they rarely have any snow still around for that one but a fair amount of mud/water. Was dry last year when I went through at this time.

T, right on man Chug Let me know if you want to join the caravan out on Thursday 7/13 to Placerville (430 miles about 6 hours) Leaving my place near LAX airport around 9am and meeting up with some other rigs along the way.

Doug yeah would be great if you could make it also. Those are the dates this year Friday 7/14/06 through Sunday 7/16/06.

I know SK was talking about early august but the jamboree’s are going through then and other groups In-between over the weekends. Not many places to pass and traffic tends to jam up pretty good whenever there are larger groups during the weekends so that one of the reasons why the dates where selected.

I mapquested the trip and there are three ways to go. Up through vegas and stay in NV all the way. Go up the 395(done this a bunch of times going to Mammoth and Tahoe for boarding). Or go to your place and go up through Saclick. I tink I is gonna go through NV the whole way. Whatever, I gotta make this run, who knows how much longer the Rubicon will be open to wheelers.

Exactly. I'm 4 days away, but I SO want to do it! AZ is slightly closer (3 days), so it'll be first. I'll 2 weeks vacation for either of them, which means saving up two weeks 4 weeks pay (I don't get vacation pay Frown ).

So, if you drop a deuce in the woods, you need to bag it, huh? I thought burying was always acceptable...

NOt on the Con.
There's very little "unused" soil left to dig a cathole. There's just been way too many cats, and too much rock/little soil.

SOme cedar shavings and some "stall dry" can be used to top off a bomb plopped in a 5 gallon bucket( lined w/ small trashcan liner).
Another bucket comes inhandy( don't forget the lid) for Fart "storage".

Sweet, I'm ready, I guess. Big Grin I put a new gas tank into my rig, so now I have a working guage. I don't have th skid plate for it though. Hope I don't fawk it up, I did raise it a few inches. I also put new poly bushings into the front suspension, and might have some new front shocks on if they get here in time before I go. The whole front axle and locker was just done new also, so the beast is definetly locked 4 wheel drive and should test the Aussie locker I bought. In other words, woooooooooo! Smokin
