I'm with Orange on that - Big Bear is probably the better choice since we only have a long weekend.

Alrighy then. Sounds like most want to do Big Bear, so that it is. Chug Columbus Day weekend. So everybody plan on it.

We will meet Sat. Morning and hopefully finish Monday Evening. I hope that will give people enough time to plan and work out their details. Obviously more details to come, I.e. meeting place and times.

-now for the lame crap. I see this run as the equivalent of calling up your buddies and going camping and wheeling. You are responsible for yourself, your actions and your truck. smiley17 No bitching, whining, or complaining, or all-5'8-155lbs-sopping-wet-14year-old-looking-self will kick your butt off the mountain and send you home. All are welcome. smiley16

Ty-if my crap ain't done by then, I will take my friends POS loaner car up and meet you and Joel and sling it bitch in one of your rides. Infact we need to atleast pre-run those trails and give everyone a good idea of what they will be running and make sure everything is open.

We'll probably be needing to hit the highway no later than mid morning on Monday, but we can still do a couple days.

ya right Ralph, I liked how NOBODY whined when we all got together and wheeled a couple months ago. Everybody had the right attitude and I loved hanging out with everybody there. Just got together and wheeled to have a good time.

I hope nobody took offense to that statement(and this isn't directed to you at all Ralph). I just posted that for the 'what-if' factor. Big Grin

Hey, whatever you can swing is cool. We will have to see how long it takes to run those trails and give a better time table so that you can plan better.

I don't think it would take you longer than 5 hours.

Really GOOD question. Well will have to pre-run the trails and see what the trails are going to be like.

Don't forget to scout out good camping spots too for saturday and sunday nights.

This is gonna be fun! I'm sure DR couldn't think of a better way to spend his birthday!

As it gets closer we'll get a head count going. I assume all the AZ guys will Nissan-a-van out there together. Smile

Bryan,
No I was only playing...Im realy looking forward to getting out again.

DL,
I know it takes about 6-7 hours to get form San Diego to Prescott, and I believe this trip should be less cause its more of a straight shot. I agree with Bryan 5 hours.

I just used big bear lake and Phoenix as start and stop points so its off a bit:

: Start out going West on E WASHINGTON ST toward N CENTRAL AVE. 0.52 miles

2: Turn RIGHT onto N 7TH AVE. 0.87 miles

3: Merge onto I-10 W via the ramp- on the left- toward LOS ANGELES. 309.01 miles

4: Merge onto CA-30 W toward HIGHLAND/ CA-330/ RUNNING SPRINGS. 4.56 miles

5: Take the CA-330 N exit toward MTN RESORTS. 0.39 miles

6: Merge onto CA-330. 15.08 miles

7: CA-330 becomes CA-18/ RIM OF THE WORLD HWY. 12.35 miles

8: Turn RIGHT onto CA-18/ BIG BEAR BLVD. 3.99 miles

9: Turn LEFT onto PAINE RD/ CA-18. 0.08 miles

10: Turn RIGHT onto LAKE VIEW DR/ CA-18. Continue to follow CA-18. 0.40 miles

Total Estimated Time: Total Distance: 347.26 miles
5 hours, 57 minutes

Figure in a 4 banger and we probably have to add almost an hour if there's any hills. Wink

We're heading to San Diego next Wednesday for vacation so we'll see how it is - although we're taking I8 all the way out.
