Lets see...it is nearly October. That leaves about 6 or so months before the Run.

Anyone have mods in the works yet? Plans of things to do before March? To your truck or otherwise....?

My list is long, I won't bother posting it all since not all of it will get done in 6 months! But...

-get some kind of crawler gears! Still looking at a variety of options and this may not happen before the Run.

-Step it up to 38's, new beadlock rims and 16" shocks. Also may not happen before the Run due to above gearing needed!

-new tire carrier that mounts to bumper and puts tire up higher. Doing it.

-new seats. This may just happen!

-new engine. Doubtful it be all done and in by March but I can hope! Which means I will be likely milking along my old tired N/A SD33 again! Since my injection pump controller is history I should at least hook up a manual kill cable. Roll Eyes

-Cutting brakes and rear disconnect. Hmmmnn I don't know about this. I should at least have an e-brake though!

-an air tank and also tank for shocks. This should be in by March.

-seal up the body. Also a toss up if it will happen.

Few other things but pretty sure they won't happen. At least half of the above list won't happen either by March! Truck is in pretty good shape atm...new Alt. that is working well, no fuel leaks, new winch rope and PTO working well, belly skid, new tranny mounts and so forth. She is pretty ready to jump in right now and do a Run. Although the motor decided to start leaking at front seal and rear seal may be leaking again! Tiny little exhaust leak at the manifold too. No leaks on my tranny/x-fer though.

My other to-do's include:

get a new better sleeping bag, maybe a new tent. Have food figured out for each day and stored much better! Organize, pack and carry a better variety of tools and spares.

that is about it for meh....

I might add a tranny cooler, but that is about it. I'd love to do more, but then that will cut into the budget for AZ expenses so it will have to run as is.

My truck should be good to go (unless I break something between now and then). I may re-do my front bumper once it cools off. The only must-do on the list involves the trailer.
- Airbag 4-link suspension
- 3 axis hitch
- add another coat of bedliner to the inside.

That's about it, I should have the first two of those done by the October 11th camping trip on 4-peaks so I can give them a good test run.

Won't be doing a whole lot. I'm gonna spend a big chunk of my tax return on maintenance and a couple other small things. I want crawler gears for this one but I don't see that happening.

I think my pathy is almost ready to go. I dont think I'll have the doubler in it by the run though..

Two things I gotta do before the run:

1) Replace the starter wiring. I've been having problems with the starter not engaging again, which is a PITA if I stall it and cant restart. If wiring or a relay doesnt fix it, I'll replace the starter.

2) Replace the track bar bushings (again).

Still have this problem, but if I run battery power to the solenoid while the ignition is on it starts....bad or corroded starter relay.

- new rear springs, converting to 5" OD baby bronco springs in the back
- putting the caR50 interior back together and making it more stock like
- computer is going away, replacing with a laptop mount and docking station, 0 functionality lost
-through rear bumper exhaust, 75% done just need to run pipe and seal one air leak in the bumper
- hope to have new rear links built with j joints
-trailer - 1/4 of the frame is done... A lot to think about here, but I hope to have a RTT, if not I will buy a double cot tent.

I won’t even be able to start on anything until early Febuary

My intermittent starting problem turned out to be a loose-fitting female spade terminal at the starter. It finally fell off one day. Once I squeezed it down with pliers and shoved it back on, my starter woes went away.

I suppose that the engine heat would expand it whenever I stopped.

At minimum, I am making my best effort to go! Other than local spots, I have not been wheeling since October of last year. AZIX is looking like my best shot to make it, we'll see.
