Get your minds out of the gutter you pervs!! I'm wondering what would be some good things to bring to keep my wife happy for the entire week? We have done 2 and 3 night stints but never a week long. How do the women deal with the long period without convienences? I'm figuring that days 1&2 will be o.k., days 3&4 will have her a little irritable, by day 5 she might take the wheel and not look back.

I stay pretty clean. Solar shower and a bathing suit...

Rabbit bathes. It's not that hard. You can still brush your teeth and clean your ears etc. It's real easy to wash your hair every morning too.

And we don't go anywhere out here without baby wipes.

Meh.

Give them a swat on the backside every now and then while sayin, "Woman, fetch me some grub".

And bring along a few romance novels by
Louis L'Amour.

It's about who gets to decide: how much energy we will have... where that energy will come from... what it will cost... Amber loves the AZ run, she occupies her time by cooking dinner for everyone on the run one night and fetching me beer Big Grin.

Your wife's happiness on the run depends entirely on her attitude and how well prepared you are.

I built my trailer so I could take my family comfortably. The year before when we had the single campsite I brought a second truck full of equipment and supplies. Here is what I would recommend in order of importance:
- Comfortable sleeping arrangements (a warm, dry, comfortable bed.)
- Private restroom facilities. This can vary depending on your wife. Amber is comfortable peeing on a bush as long as she checks for rattlesnakes and peeping toms first.
- Some way to wash up. This would probably include a shower at least once on the trip and a way to wash your hands/face/hair on a regular basis if necessary.
- Good food and a lot of help in the kitchen.

I also put a lot of emphasis on ease of setup/teardown of camp. We were able to set up camp in 1 hour from the time we stopped and it took 2 hours in the morning from the time we crawled out of bed to the time we were rolling out of camp (including cooking/eating breakfast). Here is a picture of our camp:

We also had 2 pop-up canopies that we could set up if it looked like it was going to rain.

Oh yea, I let Amber drive the hardest trail on the run last year. I spotted her through the whole thing, she had a blast. Big Grin

Also - I don't stay out there and camp the whole time (if at all) cuz I need a shower. She's always welcome to go back to the house with me and clean up.

DL, we may take you up on that offer, that may be what helps her keep me after the run is over. Maybe I won't have to keep her drunk the whole week after all. hehehehe

She's welcome - got a spare bedroom too. Once it gets closer (meaning like a week before) I'll decide what days I'm going out. I'll have the whole week off work but may take a spa day or something mid week. Big Grin
