Isn't that an oxymoron? Camoflaging a stick? Think about it. Roll Eyes

It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

smiley37 But you don't want it to look like a stick.

I need one and my eyes are at 5'6"s roughly. I have been looking on ebay for one, and really would like it to be somewhat Native American in design. I watched one on there for the last week and it finally ended at an insane amount, over 1,000 bucks! Eyes I was shocked, but it figures that was the one I liked the most.

1000$ for a hiking stick? That's crazy.

Ive been looking at these thinking about getting one to check it out...

CACTUS RIB STICK

quote:
Saguaro Cactus Hiking Staff ~ $29.99
Saguaro hiking staffs are handcrafted from the skeletal remains of actual saguaro cactii. Very unique. Incredibly strong and light. Choice of distinctive woodburns. Finished with boiled linseed oil to preserve and highlight the unique natural characteristics of the saguaro wood. All saguaro cactus walking sticks include a durable rubber tip and leather leash with stone beads. 48-58 inches.

Is this the design you are looking at doing hillbillie?

SImilar. I will be using wood we grow here. Paulownia wood has a density similar to balsa wood (very light)and it's very strong. It's even hollow when still young.

They will be sized longer than the link you provided, have a steel tip, and a lanyard at the grip- standard "model".

They should be long enough to reach your forehead, so that when standing and grabbing the grip area, you can still steady yourself by "pulling" yourself up..
These won't be like your typical walking cane, that when standing ,you need to push down on the cane to steady yourself.
