Sunday, Jan 7th will be the next scheduled trail ride in Laurel. I am sorry for those of you who cannot make it on that date. I wll try to accommodate y'all in a future event.

Smile Bring the family! Smile

As usual, we will start at Busy Bee truck stop. (See map.)
From Interstate 59 (North or South), take exit 96B COOK AVE. to Highway 15 SOUTH. You will see BUSY BEE truck stop on the right within a 1/4 mile. It is a yellow sign.

We will meet at the Busy Bee truck stop in Laurel at 9 AM and should be done by (about)3:00PM. We will have lunch on the trail. I will have a small grill and a stove. I will bring burgers, buns and condiments. Nismogone is bringing deer sausage. Bring your own drinks , but no alcohol.

Feel free to bring something that you can throw on the grill or stove, for yourself or to share. I usually have canned stuff that I can heat up for the kids, as an example.
Folding chairs are a good idea, also.

Your vehicle must be roadworthy and street legal.

Here is where we ride:

I already found some new trail that will bring us from blacktop right into the trail. Cool This will replace miles of gravel road with miles of paved back road.
The new trail (Rooster Tail Ridge) will bring us by "The Afterburner" where we had lunch on the last ride. From there, we run that section opposite of how we usually run it.
Next we run the Mall Crawler Parkway and Jungle Flats in the reverse direction. Wink From there, we move onto even newer stuff. Smile

I will do my best to use trails that are wide enough for full-size rigs, but let's face it; trails are more challenging for full-size rigs. My hat is off to those who do it. Wink
As usual, there will be a few "options". Most will have bypasses. For the others, we have straps and winches. Big Grin
Stock or lightly modded 4x4s should be able to make all of the trails. We have experienced wheelers to guide newcomers through the tricky stuff. Smile

If you want to improve your rig before the ride, here are some recommendations:

 • Suspension lift or anything that will improve chassis clearance.
 • High-clearance bumper(s).
 • CB radio ! ! !
 • Tow strap. (20' or 30' x 2" with loops.)
 • Tow hook front AND rear. A hitch receiver with a pin is fine.
 • Winch.
 • Any other mods, spare parts, tools, safety stuff and recovery gear that make a good trail rig GREAT.

I will be scouting new trail every Sunday that I can, so if you want to ride with me before the next event, shoot me a PM. However, you better be serious and up to the task. Trail scouting puts me in places that I have never seen before. It is fun sometimes. Other times it is lame. Sometimes it is hazardous. I give no guarrantees, but I appreciate company.

It's a fine line between clever and stupid.
