Ok i took my truck out the other day and completly messed it up in the water. I need to know what to do. The water filled my cab up with water to the middle of the back of my seats. Any thing you can tell me to do is greatly needed thanks.

1) Remove the spark lead from the ignition coil. Then, Pull all of the spark plugs out and then crank the engine over a few times to remove any water from the cylinders. Spray some WD40 down into each cylinder and then crank a few more times. This will help prevent the cylinder walls from rusting up.
2) Disconnect the battery and put it on a battery charger. You will need a good charged battery later. 3) Drain ALL the major fluids and refill everything with new fluid. This includes the engine oil, trans fluid, differentials, and possibly power steering & brake fluid. 4) Once the battery is charged up and with new fluids in at least the engine and trans, then you'll have to see if the truck will start. Reconnect the ignition coil lead, reinstall spark plugs, and cross your fingers. 5) Chances are you will have to go through the engine systems checking everything out to find out what has been water damaged. You may need to find a parts truck to pull some parts off of and try swapping parts out. Hope this helps. |
