With another kid on the way, my wife and I have found out that the Envoy we bought just won't cut it.

Main issue is space... With the kids and two dogs its just not enough space..

We're looking at a 2004 Armada SE 4x4 with 43K for about 21K.

Any bad points to the Armada in general? Keep in mind we won't be using this as an off road SUV..

thanks..

They are made here in Canton, Mississippi. Smile (I have no idea how that is helpful.)

Aside from the rear suspension, the drivetrain is the same as on the Titan.

The rear is a D44 IRS. haven't heard of any problems with it.

I have an 06 4x2 and it works great! It is awsome on the highway and no probs with the IRS so far.

Oh, and it tows my truck (97 hb singlecab) like nothing (4300 lbs)!

Only down side: 16 to 19 mpg and it barely fits on the garage Big Grin

My wife's Armada is a big old beast. We've had it for a couple 3 months now. She loves it. It's an '07 SE with after market leather. We traded in the '05 X on it for the same reason you guys are looking for. That thing is huge inside. The 3rd row is the same size as the backseat of the X. We can put one fullsize stationary car seat a booster seat and the base for the new kid's carrier in there. Gas Mileage is the pits. It will get out of it's own way by it self though.

Actually, the Armada uses the R230 rear, same as was under the twin-turbo Z and the Q45.

I looked at an Armada tonight and I must say I will not be buying one..

Main reason... Interior quality is very LOW, Seats seam very cheap and poorly made. The rear fold down seats are so flimsy that it seamed like I could have easily pulled them from their mounts. For being as wide as it was the front seat was awful tight..

Not quite sure yet but I think I might go look at a Tahoe...
