I have not been inide the auto-hubs, BUT I've been in several manual hubs and go real light on the grease. The stuff inside needs to slide and the grease will build up so the stuff has to plow the grease, and it won't do it.

Unless the hub has suffered catastrophic fauilure (something is busted), then more than than likely it is not sliding and meshing w/the cogs.

manual hubs will stick if not used
so i would presume the same for autos
take it apart clean it with gas butt be spareing with it. lol just kiding !!! butt they say the price of gas is going up again .lightly grease it and try it out.
youll probably find the grese resembles mud
once you open it up
