do any of your starters ever get full of mud or water and quit working is there a rebuild kit and or something i can do to fix it and prevent it from happening agian

EekIf the plate between the bellhousing and block aren't sealed properly, yes you'll get water and other junk up the starter. If you have a manual (shop or repair) it will show you were to place sealant. Big Grin

I have had that problem. I just took it apart cleaned it up with wd40 and put it back together. Good as new.

You can get new brushes cheap. Also alternators can be cleaned up with wd40 with dissassemly. Most people just buy new ones. The alt bearings are only $9 each.

WD40 does work well, but sealing the plate will prevent u from having to take the starter off all the time, especially if u wheel alot.
