I have a 84 KC that I plan to do a SAS on. I was going to go with a toy front but I have a 76 powerwagon that I need to get rid of and no one wants to give anything for it. It has a d60/44 and I believe it is right at 63" WMS to WMS. Question is what kind of back space wheels can I run and still keep the tires somewhat in the wells. Plan on going with a 12.5x35 or 36.
The truck is also getting a 231 buick with a 350turbo. I also plan to run dual datsun cases. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. I will not tiptoe through life only to arrive safley at death. |

you can't really run more than about 4.5" of backspacing on a d44, or you get the tire too close to the steering arms. a 4.5" backspaced rim on a 63" axle will be the same as 2" backspaced rims on a 58" axle. Don't really wanna go that narrow anyway.
