Assuming it's a 4x4, it's probably 4.10:1.

Look for the axle code if it still has a doorjamb build sticker.

Should be an axle code somewhere on there...like CA41 or HF39 or something like that.

720's have a tag on the pasenger inner fender, it will say either HF38, CA41 or if your lucky HF43 the last two numbers tell what gear ratio is in it. so CA41 would mean you got 4.11s

You can run them but your speedometer and tach will no longer be accurate. And you will notice a reduction in gas mileage.

Under the Pathfinder '95 and older disscusion group there is a tire and gear ratio calculator posting that you might find helpful.

We have an 84 720 pick-up in the family. The biggest problem with those engine is people never do a full tune-up. They just replace the 4 easy spark plugs. Never touch the inside ones due to the fact you have to take off the air cleaner and all that crap.

A well tuned Z24 is a pretty peppy little truck. About 2 years ago I drove a 1985 Blue 720 sport edition with 89K miles. Bought from an old man. The AC even worked. Pretty quick for a 20yr old truck.

Youhave 4.11's. If you can find gears from an 82 it would be much better, 4.37's. I run 33's with 4.37, it does ok. I would prefer lower gear ratio's. In order to correct speedo and get back into the power band I need 5.13's but not gonna happen with these axles. Your choices are pretty much what you have now, or gears from an older one, which are 4.37.
