Also need to know if u have to use that heatplate thing under the carb, or just leave it unhooked(Z24)

Aside from keeping her wheel tuned you could try to throw a bigger carburetor in there. Webbers are nice but tricky to tune. Probably would not too well off road.

Webers are EASY to tune. 5-10 minutes tops. Ihave one on my truck, and now that I have the thing memorized I can tune the carb in less then 2 minutes. Also they do VERY well offroad with a Weber. Granted I have a Z22 but only difference is displacement. Weber carb does wonders for power, and even nets you some better gas mileage IF you tune it right. You can't tune them like any other carb, you'll get a bit better power and horrid mileage trying to tune like a stock carb. Just make sure it's jetter correctly, and you will be VERY happy with it.
