Hey Guys, I'm currently looking at buying an 07 or 08 Frontier (4x4 of course). My Question is what is the difference between a standard 4x4 and a nismo? I know it's different shocks and comes with skidplates. All of that can be done though aftermarket. Is it worth it to just shell out the extra cash and get the Nismo? Or should I just do that stuff after market? I really appreciate all input. Thanks guys!!!

depends on what kind of wheeling your goin to get into and if you want a locker or not
if you can drive manual you can get the se 4x4 manual which has the m226 axle(open diff) , this axle you can buy an arb locker for as well as a detroit tru-trac LSD

both are both a stronger carrier than the stock locker
then as far as suspension and armor , you said it yourself you can upgrade with aftermarket cause stock skids are paper thin

Well - This will also be my daily driver. So I'm not going manual with Phoenix traffic. As far as how much wheeling. . I just want something that can make most trails. I'm not going to crazy mod it (at least not till I'm done with grad school and it's a second vehicle). But I want something I can keep up in and still hit the trails with friends.

If you want an auto truck anyways, I'd drop the extra coin and get one with a locker.

Having the locker will make you worthy for most trails. It made a big difference in traction when the trail is real loose and my tires came off the ground.

Nismo and a small lift, bigger tires will get you most places, wheeled with some like that at Moab and they did great.

Also WELCOME to N4W...!

Thanks so much guys!! Y'all are really friendly and have an active forum. It sounds like I should just shell out the extra so I can get the locker. I guess the hunt begins. I though phoenix would have an awesome selection, but there seem to be a ton of used 2wd, not so much on the 4 wd.
