OK guys, the wilwood valve does not give me the brake peddle I'd like.

IS there a bigger different Nissan master cylinder thats plug and play?

Here's whats happening. I have to push the brake peddle about half way to the floor to get a kinda firm brake peddle.

For me to lock up the brakes I have to pump the peddle a couple times really fast. The wilwood valve helps but not much more over stock.

I have the wilwood valve set up between the rear hard brake line and the drop down flex line that goes to the axle.

I'll get pictures loaded up later tonight (still at shop).

My 1989 FSM is showing that every Nissan D21 used a 15/16 diameter MC bore except the 2WD VG30 equipped trucks, which used a 1" bore. I assume that Nissan did not do much redesigning of the brake system during the D21U changeover so it theoretically should be the same for 1995.

The larger piston might help move more fluid. Some info to chew on.

A MC from a full size chevy truck is not to dificult to ugrade to and gives you a better then stock feel. One from a 70 series truck will only run you about $30-40 from your local auto parts store.

I'll be upgrading to a MC with a built in PV. It runs about $130 I can't remember who makes it, would have to check the magazine I found it in.

I know about this upgrade. Issue is my Nissan MC has 3 hyd hoses going into it. Chevy MC just have two. I would have to make some sort of brake slave cylinder.

D21- thanks for the info. I was hoping the 2WD heavy duty hardbody used a bigger MC. I'll look up the MC to see how it works.

Yeah, my MC had 3 lines going into it also. All Nissan's do (well within limits). You need a t-adapter for the front two lines and the rear gets its own line with a PV on it.

Ok, looks like in 2/92 Nissan went with a 1" bore on all MC. Prior to 1/92 you can buy either a 4X4 15/16' bore or a 1" bore. All 2wd HD have 1" bores. I have a 95 XE. The only MC's they list for my truck are 1" bore.

The 2wd MC are different from 4wd MC. Not interchangeable.

However this is info I've from form researching different years of trucks and what MC bore size you can buy for said year. I need to verify if my truck has the bigger MC or now.

How can you tell the different of a bigger MC and a smaller MC? I know usually you can tell by looking at the MC, however there's not a big difference between 15/16 and 1”.

You are right, they did change over to a 1" on all trucks after the D21U changeover. Nissan FAST confirms this info.

Sometimes the MC will have a stamp on it which indicates its bore size. Look around for any numbers.

ok, I've got some advice from a guy in the local 4x4 club. He ran into the same problem with his axle swap.

HOLY POOO...that/those could be EXACTLY what I need! smiley4 Since my swap, I've had pretty crappy brakes as well. I have a LOT of pedal travel even w/ brand NEW brakes front AND rear!

Would/should I get TWO???? One for the front disk brakes and one for the rear drum brakes? Lemmo know, I'm dying to try this for only $20-$40!!! Rock on. Later...

Here's the link, There is two different kinds. Blue for front discs and red for drums. Since I have a wilwood manual Proportioning valve I'm not going to be running the red one yet. I'm going to try the blue valve for the front and see what happens.

I'm planning on two valves, one for each caliper. You can do a google/yahoo product search and get cheaper prices. Summit Is a little high on shipping.

If this set-up doesn't work I'm going to go with the biggest chevy MC and scratch all the valves.
