I'm looking for a backup work truck for here on the Big Island. I talked to the owner today and he says it has 130k miles and it's a 4 cylinder 5 speed. Since my 95 HB is a 6 cylinder, I can't compare. What can I expect for motor life out of the 4 cylinder and what do I look and listen for on a 4 cylinder? Also, how do you check before hand if a used vehicle is legit, meaning not stolen? The area of the island that this is from is pretty much BFE where anything goes. If it's been reasonably maintained you can figure that engine is about half used up. 250k is a reasonable lifespan for a KA engine.

my 2WD has the Ka24. 140,000 running strong. On thing I noticed is the notorious valve tick. Check the tranny, Mine acts up sometimes.
