MVM.. actually, it was hotter than 90 out there Friday.. I heard it was over 100. Sure felt like it.. I was getting pretty dehydrated. Its been 110+ here, doesnt feel much different once its over 105 or so.

XTC.. even with a TM lifted setup, it isnt any worse than just a stock setup with cranked torsions. With 39s, im surprised you dont go through CLs more often. What kinda truss and brace? Have any pics?

XTC, what makes the angles any steeper on a TM lifted truck than on an A arm lifted truck? There's spacers on the spindles on the TM lift that move steering components upward the amount of the lift, so I'm confused.

To answer your question, yes, the threaded portion is still the same thickness, but again, that in itself isn't the issue. I rockcrawl HARD and have only broken a tierod (or even bent) a tierod center when the CL went bad and jammed into the frame.

For your truck, if you were bending that stuff prior to the new steering you put on, it's most likely due to those REALLY wide tires you run. I'm sure your CL's weren't lasting long at all.

To all of you who are UNLOCKED in front, and complaining about steering issues...

I have literally about 500 street AND offroad miles on the most recent CL, and it's trashed. I'm gettin' it as hard I can with an IFS truck. frown (IFS is gay) The trails I run are generally no more than 1 mile in length. Sometimes less, but almost never more than 2 miles. A front locker will destroy your steering in less time than you can believe. frown frown

I am having a lot of trouble deciding what to do. For that reason, the X will not forgo any major mods for a while. The front locker will have to wait for a while.

Hey Mikey.. would you want to try to do a custom steering setup like the one done by TK1? I want to have a centerlink machined out to accept bearings and weld up gusseted shear mounts on both the Pitman and idler arms to keep the CL from twisting. We should look into doing this. We should be able to do it for under $200 re-using an old dead centerlink. If we can do this, I think this would definitely be the way to go.

Otherwise, Im gonna give SLR a call and have them make a custom setup for my truck.
