guys...
as some of you know I need a rear diff skid badly. Need some pics for ideas on how you have a rear skid set up on your H233's. Please post some pics or send me links... thanks! |

I have this one on both of mine, but it would take some mods to make that work on yours given the truss setup. Also, my gripe about the design is that the ubolts should point upward. I've sheared them in the existing positions.
This is the one from Calmini. Its $189. 1998 Frontier 4x4, 2002 Xterra 4x4, and Z28 street rocket Pass here and go on. You're on the road to heaven - Kerouac |

I have a h233b skid plate from a/c still in the box I'll never be able to use it. I've never even opened it up. I believe calmini and a/c have the same design skid plate.

Thanks guys!
Is this pretty much the skid everybody is running? Got any pics of it on a truck/diff.? The only other type I have seen was on an Aussie Patrol where the "hat" is welded on.... |

I've seen some pics of some very nice skids that are custom. Just don't remember where I saw them. No U-bolts to hang up. Similar to Ford 9" skids.

Just get some 3/16 x 2in steel and start at the bottom of the housing and weld it up and over where the ring gear goes. Looks better and provides better clearance.

well we went with a weld on type skid. After the AZ Run my rear pumpkin was a bit beat up so I really needed a skid.
I am pretty happy with it, protects the R&P well. But I still don't have any protection on my 3rd member. I would like to have a skid for the 3rd, I am thinking it may get done as a bolt on type unit. Doesn't look to hard to come up with something for the 3rd that will bolt on and protect it. |
