currently im running 33" tires with a gear ratio of 3.35 (stock) the truck does alright but im upgrading gears to 3.69 (the only option i have right now) according to the calculator currently with 33"s i should be running 3.56 gears so a difference in ratio of .21 , when i upgrade to 3.69 gears the cacultor says i should go to 34's but i would like to try and fit 35's
the gear ratio i would need to run 35's is 3.78 with the 3.69 in place thats only a difference in ratio of .09

so what do think go with 34's or 35's? and i have no idea how available 34's are

what calculator are you using? I'd like to toy with a copy of that one. I only have one of the excel crawler calculators.

Ahhh yes I played with that one when I first joined up, completely blanked on it. I blame it on the painting of the apartment and drinking some beers.

Penski- to get the same tire/gear (33/3.35) you have now the calculator says you would need 3.51 gears for 35 inch tires so you should be in good shape from where you are today if you go to 3.69's and 35's.

This is a easy question with an easy answer. Get the highest numerically gear ratio you can and install them. Since you have a newer truck your options are very limited.

Look at it this way, how much power do you have now? How much more power will you have with a high gear ratio?

I've got 5.38, 35's with a V6. I could use a higher gear ratio for on-road use. And yes the gear chart says I could run a 38" tire. I sure would not have any power. Probably brake a bunch of stuff.

A-rod stated a very good tire choice. If you don't like those, make sure to stay with the interco brand.

On a different note, have you really grown out of 33 in tires? 33's with a good ifs set-up perform well. 35” tire will put a ton of strain on your suspension.
