Im looking to buy a Nissan truck, preferably a 5spd, it will probably have to be between 1992 and 1996 or so, to fit in my price range. Is there any years or models around those years that are better or worse then others? any engine drivetrain issues? Any other adivse you can think of would be great too, thanks a lot,

rule of thumb on this one is always get one of the earlier year of any given generation.

such as, the hardbody debut in late 1986. Thus, the hardbody of 86/5-88 are prolly the toughest, even though they are made up towards 1997. They cheapen the trucks from year to year whenever they see an opportunity to cut cost/labor.

All years 92-96 will be basically the same truck form a component and drivetrain standpoint, so you're best off just finding the best deal you can make on one from any of those years. I think the instrument panel was updated in '94 or '95. But that's about it on the differences.

4 cyl (K24E) and V6 (VG30) models were available in those years. Most 4 bangers are manual tranny trucks, and they're split in the V6 trucks. Both engines are reliable, but neither is terribly powerful.
