I've got a set of Cooper Discoverer S/T's on my truck that I've had for about 35k miles. They've still got good tread depth (around 9 or 10 32's), and have worn really evenly. I had them on my old Grand Cherokee initially, and kept them when I sold it. Everyone that I've talked to is like 'You actually like Cooper? BFG T/A's are the way to go!', but I'm really happy with these tires. At the rate they're wearing I've probably got at least another 10k usable miles out of them (I sell my tires and buy new ones when they hit about 5/32's tread depth) for a total of around 45k, which is much better than the BFG's I had on my jeep before I bought these tires (worn out after 30k). They seem to be better in the snow than my BFG's were, and the tread definitely seems to self-clean better. And to top it off, I paid around $20 less per tire for them than I would have if I'd bought BFG's again.
Has anybody else had good experiences with Coopers? I seem to be alone in my preference of them around where I live, and I'm wondering if I just got a lucky set or something. nissan low res.jpg |

cooper make good tires. Most of their tires are for cars and light truck/suv. I haven't heard many complaints from their tires.
As for the BFG AT's, I've got 2 different trucks both have bfg at's. They have served me good. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

are yours BFG T/A's or are they Rugged Trails? just curious, someone said that the Rugged Trails last longer than the BFG T/A's. (though in all fairness he has the Rugged Trails on a Silverado that never sees anything worse than a dirt road, and the T/A's are on an XJ that looks like it's been through a war.

In my opinion the Rugged Trails are crap tires that you sometimes get with a new auto...
I had a 2K Nissan X that came with Rugged Trails and I got rid of them every shortly as the preformed poorly. I put on BFG T/A KO's and WOW what a difference on and off road... Not to mention they wore a lot better then most TA's I've seen out there.. They usually last me somewhere beteen 35K to 45K. I have had a BFG T/A's on every SUV/Truck I've owned from 1994 till today... With one exception I did put on a pair of Procomp TA's on my 05 GMC Truck and they did very well too.. Other Tires I have tired.. Dulop MT's - Cheap tires, Wore out too soon Wrangler MTR's - My recently purchased Y2K X came with them and it's too soon to tell.. but from what I've seen they're a great tire... General Tire - Stock tires that came on my first 1994 Pathfinder, total Crap tires, switched to BFG T/A's WOW, no more issues.. -- MattMan555 -- << 2000 Nissan X >> <<A lift and big tires >> << Now with Urine Protection >> |

My tires are BFG T/A KO's. Good on, off-road, suck in mud. 1 set I bought in 06 got around 18K on them. I bought the warranty with them so the tires get balanced and rotated every 5K miles. Or whenever I don't like something. Seen mainly street with a few trail rides. Good wear so far.
2 set 35" BFG TA's , currently installed on my 4x4. Bought them used. Tires were at least 4 years bolt when I got them. Have about 1/2 tread left, no dry rot. To my knowledge the tires have primary only seen off-road use with little pavement use. I've never had the tires balanced, the guy before be said he only had the tires balanced one. They ride nice and perform well. I'm happy with purchasing these tires used. I'm a nazi when it comes to balancing and rotating tires. Keeping wear even on all tires is a must when they cost ~200 ea. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

First time I've heard of a tire-balancing nazi. I'm the same way, my coopers get balanced whenever I change my oil. Tire nazi's of the world....UNITE! nissan low res.jpg |
