Just a quick question. I have the opportunity to get some 17" rims and possible BFG MT's and was wondering what you all thought about running on 17" vs. 15" or 16". Most all of you that I know are running 15's or 16's, should I stay away from 17" if I am running 33's or larger?

I think the reason you see less off roaders with bigger rims is The tire size availability is much smaller.plus other reasons im sure

depends on what you want 15" tires and wheels are cheap(er)
The better tires are often only available in 17", and much more expensive. Many guys actually go to bigger wheels to minimize sidewall flex when aired down and on sidehills. It also helps with steering response when aired down. My next set of tires will be 17's...it's the only size they come in. 2004 Titan-fairly stock, '89 Nissan sas swap in progress d60/9", 9", 5.43's/arb's, 38.5x16x15"tsls/beadlocks, winch/air, 3.3L |
