Well, I'm new in this wheeling stuff and I'm trying to learn as much as I can before making a big mistake with my truck and finishing early my new hobbie.

The thing is that only one month after beggining with this I made the first scrap to my truck, it was a tight pass between a tree and a rock wall, and now the thing is:

to fix, or not to fix...

I don't like to see my HB with dents, but if it's very normal maybe I'll have to get used to...

this was in a place very close to the city, just 3 or 4 miles from home, and there are many interesting places to test the 4x4. this time we were 2 nissans, my HB and 1 Pathfinder, 1 bronco, 1 toyota, and several jeeps.

I hadn't my camera, so have no pics. A friend has some, so I'll ask him to share me them.

this is the place where...

and this is my truck that day...

show me your dents and scraps, and tell me, are you going to fix them?

As long as it's not going to rust then don't fix it. Wink

Rust is a problem where I live so any bare metal has to be painted quickly.

The first dent, ding, scratch is the hardest. Then you get used to them.

My current rig doesnt have all that many dents. Ive only gotten 2 dents on the trail in the new rig, but here is a stupid one I picked up on the way home. This is what happens when you forget to put the hood pins back in and pull a Jeep down the freeway.

In this hobby you can't go arround being afraid of a little coustom sheetmetal.
My biggest one (biggest noticable one)so far was from over drifing a turn near a fence. (I was too heavy on the gass and didn't let off soon enough). The fence post left a nice curve just behind the marker light on the front left fender. It actually looks like an aftermarket flared fender. now if only I can re-create the same thing on the other side....

I layed it against a tree, then had to drive out of it while ripping off my pass.-side bed flare, and crunching the entire bed. Enjoy :

Another pic showing damage further up (in between doors) :

Here you can see how scratched it is (right-side of pic) :

Hope you liked! Later...

Sill damage from steep humps, dirt with some rocks in it did this.

This is from driving over a large stump, RHS bottom and rear of front fender.

not a problem for sills anymore! Fender well protected too!

now have chassis armor such as front and rear diff skids and belly skid. Not to protect body but to protect the more important stuff!
