I recognize Pumpkin patch.

The water area is Vallecito/ Carrizo Creek?? going out to the ruins of the old stage coach station where the road pretty much deadends
( and there's virtually nothing recognizable as a stage station).

Or is the water area going into Coyote CAnyon- and the road up to Anza?

The X is 2wd ,or4wd and just got lazy and didn't air down for the sand?

We were all 4wd and that's actually a 4Runner stuck in the sand. It happened the first night when we first got to camp when we were mess'n around... he burried it prettty good but he knew we'd be able to pull him out with little trouble... so.. he got a little throttle happy.

The water it on the way up to coyote canyon.

Anza is a great place, but it was SO Frigg'n hot.

Whoops! So it is. Anza had to be cooler than the desert below.

What do you expect in June Wink Razz

"End of the world", was that when we were cruising throught the water the first day out to the ruins of the stage station?

Or the last night when we were driving in the dark and the wind was blowing? By the mud pots and that sandy bowl.....
