Yeah, but you can't get crawler gears for it, and it has a heater knob to put it in 4wd, with no neutral setting.

Yea but you don't need the Calmini gears because the Atlas will fit with the AA adapter for the Titan.

and that is why in a few years, I'm seriously thinking about doing a tube chassis buggy with titan drivetrain. right now you can get a totalled titan for about 5-6k, in a few years that should go down a grand or 2

Raise your hand if you really think the Atlas conversion will be readily available in the years to come. The only reason it exists is because of the Titan Four Wheeler Magazine built for TTC.

Plus, is the transmission to case pattern the same for a Frontier vs. a Titan?

OOh ooh pick me, pick me, oh I thought you were handing out dougnuts. Frown I hear ya DR But 260 hp and a little bit bigger package is a nice incentive. Crawler gears are nice, but I think I can get away without them, I have so far. Big Grin I might one day but I'll wait until I start traveling more.

We need them in the rocks. I'd rather have less HP and lower gearing for rock crawling.

I'm not sure of the difference, but I believe there is one between the Titan and Frontier drivetrain (other than the powerplant, of course)
and yes I believe that the AA adapter will be readily available for the Titan very soon.. The Titan aftermarket scene is going to explode after the TTC Titan, for sure

The front half of the Titan transfer case's case interchanges with the Xterra, Frontier, and Pathfinder, so it's a pretty safe bet that the AA t-case will work unless there's something different about the transmission output shaft...

However, the Titan is auto-tranny only, so I don't know if the AA setup would work behind a manual transmission. There are different part numbers for the Xterra/Frontier V6 t-case case half for manual and automatic, but it may be as simple as the TX10 t-case where the difference is trivial.

It appears that AA only made a handfull of adapters so the likely hood is very limited unless they get a spike in requests for it. At least they have most of the work done.
