Well, as most of the SWANKy members know, Duerk, Molly, Ronnie, and myself all traveled up to the Grand Canyon this morning. When we got to the McDonald's, out came the water guns. Everyone got soaked. Finally, we got there and walked around Mather Point (I think that's what it was! hahaha). We saw a spot with a "Thinker Guy" according to Molly and decided that heading out to a spot along the canyon with no railings and a 100 foot drop was a REALLY good idea. hahaha... In order to get there, we had to head out from our current spot. Ronnie and Molly decided to take the legal way out and walk along the sidewalk. Duerk and I decided to try out the "DEATH Trail". A small path which was really just erosion with a 200 foot drop on one side of this 6" wide path. Nuts. Purely nuts.
SO... We get to where the "Thinking Guy" was sitting and Duerk thinks it's a GREAT idea to hang their feet over the edge and have me take a picture. I do, and we take some more pictures and then head out. Boy O Boy do I need to use the restroom! (More on this later..hehehe) Well, we head out and decide to head to Montezuma's Castle. (Back at the McDonalds, everyone gets soaked AGAIN... hahaha)
Before we get to Montezuma's Castle, we hit a HUGE traffic jam. We are backed up, and so is my personal septic system. Traffic isn't moving, so out come the water guns! hahaha Everyone is soaked again. We finally get to the Rest Area, and WOW, I think I blew a humongous hole in the toilet! hahaha It was nasty.
We get back in, and head out. Of course, the traffic jam is all done at the end of the on ramp. A trailer had overturned and made a HUGE wreck! We pass everything and head to Montezuma's Castle which was pretty darn cool! Uh oh, I start feeling bloated! eek Back at the visitor's center, I blow a hole in THAT toilet! (I'm on a RECORD! hahaha 3 toilets destroyed so far!)
We head out and everything is going good, and around Black Canyon City, we hit ANOTHER traffic jam, and out come the water guns! hahaha Eventually, we part ways, and I come home and destroy my own toilet! hahaha... That's 4 toilets that are destroyed! And I'm feeling a bit bad again! hahaha... All that bacon and eggs and steak and ham and sausage didn't do me too well... But I'm still up!

I forgot to mention about how in the Montezuma's Castle parking lot, we got the water guns out AGAIN, and once again, EVERYONE got soaked, and I ended up spraining my ankle running away from a 1gallon jug of water.. frown Right now, it's hurting like a b***h... frown I can hardly walk. I hope it gets better tomorrow...

Glad you guys had fun. We ran into quite the traffic back up on our way into town. We got off on Carefree hwy and took that to somewhere that eventually got us to Bell rd and onto hwy 51. It was somewhat out of the way, but traffic was backed up so bad - who knows how long we'd have been sitting on the freeway.

What time were you on the freeway? I think we hit the same mess. The first traffic jam was just north of Montezumas Castle where a trailer overturned. traffic was backed up for miles and much of the time I was actually putting the truck in park. Molly even ran back to the minivan and dreanched Mikey and Ronnie with a squirt gun. They got us back though.

The first back up was at mile marker 234 or so because of a wreck on mile marker 231. We were talking to truckers who said it was backed up all the way into Phoenix, so we decided to just get off the freeway. This was probably around 2ish.

Holiday traffic just plain sucks. haha

I had fun this weekend.. cept for my truck's suspension acting up. I finally got it close to level but now have ot take it to Sears to have it aligned. My tires got pretty chewed up from the drive out there and back. frown

I may go ahead and put on the lift A-arms before I get it aligned, to keep them from using so many shims.

And now, the pictures to tell the story.

Here is the Grand Canyon. If you look very close and cross yor eyes, you will see a small cave a.k.a."cave del Duerksens Banditos".

This is a bird that was riding the air currents in the canyon I think he was suffering from the same bowel problems as Mikey.

Here Mikey contemplated life in the "Thinker Spot"

This is a great picture Mikey took of Molly and I on the edge of the world

Mikey, you're using netsnapshot which doesn't allow linking anymore, so no one but you can see those pics.
