LOL! I did that too on this last Cali trip. I hi-centered it really good. I dont have any pics though. One of the guys in the group just pushed me back a little and it crawled right off the hill.

I'm glad our drivetrains are pretty well protected and out of the way. It would trash some trucks to do this to them.

I was crapping my pants that I was gonna bend the steering going over it, it's kind of a V-shape and you have to go up a little like 1 ft. step up to get over it, the other last time I turned around there, but this time I really wanted to finish the trail. This picture is from the back side of it:

Just for future reference, you need tires on the ground in order to maintain forward motion! big grin We have had a few of our guys here do something similar although ours are done on sand hills, not rocks. We even hung a Hummer up on one and believe it or not, pulled him out with an X! Of course we won't talk about the two Xterras he pulled at the same time when one almost rolled... eek

Come on now warmonger! You don't need tires on the ground to maintain forward motion, you just need to have enough speed when your tires leave the ground to make sure you are still headed forward.. hehehe wink smile

Good point! I stand corrected! big grin

And as for the Hummer that got high-centered, it was actually a gross error on his part. It kind of goes along with Mikeys statement of enough speed to still be heading forward, he didn't. wink

I have yet to get in a position like that, but I've come close a bunch of times.

How much more wheelbase does a Hummer have than a Nissan truck. Are they somewhat close, or is the Hummer lots longer?

A Hummer has a wheel base of 130" to the Xterra/Pathfinders 104". So 26" longer overall. But keep in mind that it comes from the factory with 38" tires and gear reduction hubs that give it a pretty stout ride height. Its short coming is its width.
