I lent John my 4 runner last weekend and this is how it ended up.... He laid it down on a tree and then it dragged down the side of it as he tried to get it unstuck.
The damage both doors and glass the mirror and the cargo window broke on the drivers side a busted rear tail light and a severly crinkled rear quarter.

The back half of the panel still pretty crinkled

Some pics of the doors I took off

New doors and glass installed trying so sand and prep them for primer I still have to fix the back panel.
My poor truck. I don't think john will be borrowing it again anytime soon. He is paying for the repairs though since he did it all.

Ya I was quite pissed and distressed since I was on vacation when he left me a voicemail that he had wrecked it. I calmed down and finaly relaxed a few days later after I started to get some sleep again.
Anyways he is taking care of it so I can't be that pissed at him now. I did check with the junkyard I got the doors from they said they could cut me the whole rear quarter out of another one if I needed. So I might look at doing that to mine the back almost looks way to wrinkled to repair with a slide hammer and filler.

My father always said "Dont loan anything you cant afford to lose?"

At least he is man enough to own up and fix it, I had a friend who loaned out his car it got wrecked and the person who wrecked it refused to do anything. Short of a lawsuit he was screwed.

And anyways Ive always heard chick dig body damage! Big Grin

My luck maybe changing though a dude on 4x4wire wants to trade his 88 SAS'ed 4 runner for mine.
I think I might do it if it is a straight out 1 for 1 trade.

I'd make the doors function(paint them red so it doesn't look too dumb) and leave it like that. You should be relieved, now you don't have to worry about banging the sides up when you are negotiating tough obstacles Wink.

Here's some pics of the 88 4 runner the guy wants to trade me for mine.

Spec as I know on it:
88 4 runner v6 standard
all pro SFA swap
Sky mfg hysteer
new procomp ES900 shocks
33x12.50 Geolander MT's
Prozap front bumper w/ warn M8000 winch
Rag top
custom rear bumper.
Custom square tube slip joint front DS
chevy leafs in rear.
E-locker

The only issue as far as I know is the heads need to be replaced he has a set of rebuilt heads to put on it claims he doesn't have the time to work on it because of school. It has some dents it was a florida truck I guess it has only spent 2 winters in NY.

Shad,

That trade seems a bit one sided. I imagine you current 4 runner has more hp and runs better. Just save up a bit and convert yours to the solid axle- then you will have an awesome truck.

Well it techinally has the same amout of HP since his a V6 as well. I have worked on 3VZE engines so much so it is cake for me. Ya mine is newer but I like the removeable top thing though I was just going to chop mine if I wasn't going to get rid of it. I found out he only has 4.11's in it so the first thing I would do is regear it to 5.29's.
