Last sunday we, that's Harry (Win), Hans, Debby and me, started for the Italy run 2002. After about 2 hours driving we came to a little country road in Austria when I all of a sudden saw a flipped farm tractor on the field down the road and 2 people running around.
We stopped and I asked if we could help anyhow. It turned out that the tractor flipped while getting too fast in a turn on the grass and flipped. The driver, a young guy of about 16, was trapped under the tractor with all the heavy weight on his back. So we tried to push up the tractor while Hans got his Taro (european Hilux) down the 15' high banket to help us with his winch. We attached the winch cable and pulled the tractor up to the side to get the guys back free of the pressure. Now still his foot was trapped under the rear wheel and Win got his truck down also so that we could lift the wheel with his HiJack. By that time the paramedics arrived and took over the first aid treatment while we where still trying to free him. It took us about five minutes to get him out completely and by the time the fire&rescue arrived we where finished and the guy was in the ambulance. We got a big thanks from the fire&rescue as well as from the police on scene for saving that poor guys life. Everything went hand in hand and we worked together as we were a professionel rescue team. At least in this area 4wheelers will have a very good name from now on. Pics will be up as soon as Harry gets the film developed.
