When i was 16, i decided to take off the rear swaybar. I got confused and pulled off the wrong bar...the panhard rod. That's the big one right behind the rear diff that connects the axle and frame. Needless to say, I about crapped my pants driving around the block. I got back in the driveway and quickly put it back on.

I'm glad you found that humorous.. Something very close to that happened to me when I was 16.. I had an '89 Iroc Z that I slammed into a curb sideways at about 40MPH... It snapped the panhard rod to frame mounting bolt.. After inspection (all I could tell was a bent axle shaft) I decided to try and drive it home.. Well needless to say I made it about 20 yards, started into a turn, looked out my side mirror and saw about half the tread of the 245s sticking out! Scary feeling for sure! Decided a wrecker was a better call.....
