Yeah but if you do not take them off you will likely rip the mounts flexing it out like that, and yes it does flex better without it, trust me.

I'm glad you found that humorous.. Something very close to that happened to me when I was 16.. I had an '89 Iroc Z that I slammed into a curb sideways at about 40MPH... It snapped the panhard rod to frame mounting bolt.. After inspection (all I could tell was a bent axle shaft) I decided to try and drive it home.. Well needless to say I made it about 20 yards, started into a turn, looked out my side mirror and saw about half the tread of the 245s sticking out! Scary feeling for sure! Decided a wrecker was a better call.....
