DR, Mark said he was pulling the tranny & t-case too, maybe you can get those too?? Mark??

You know, this might be real good timing too. "IF" Mark has the stuff ready when you go to Tellico, you could pick it all up instead of having to have it shipped. Hmmm..

It'd be much easier putting in another 5 speed than it would be to swap in Mark's automatic. Tranny coolers, the lines, shift linkage, a matching console.....Nah, I want the 5 speed.

The Tcase might work though....as long as they bolt up to the manual and auto tranny's the same way.

Andy,

Couldn't sleep a wink last night and actually crashed on my couch in the office after surfing all those freakin' links that Mikey was tossing out for me... wink

It's all I can think about to tell you the truth. The motor is yours, we'll work out the details, I'll either drive it out for you and spend some time and install my new engine in AZ or something like that.

Rims and tires are killing me right now trying to decide. Gonna give TrailReady a call to see about there 16x10 Beadlock wheels but have some reservations of getting hassled by the police with them on. Not sure.

It will have to be a 16 inch rim though. DL, We probably could work something out before Tellico next year. Andy, you may want to try and use my T-Case if you can..hint, hint.. wink

Gotcha on the hint big grin We'll definitely figure something out.

For rims, find something with a lot of backspacing...you'll already be WAY wide. 16's are gonna limit your tire choices somewhat.

Hey Mark, if you are gonna go with a swamper, let me make a couple suggestions (and I might end up with one of these after the MTR's are done, and they still don't have a 39" MTR):

1) 15x10" BART Beadlocks with 38x14.50x15 TSL/SX's

2) 15x8" BART Beadlocks with 38x12.50x15 TSL/SX's

3) 15x8" BART Beadlocks with 37x12.50x15 MTR's.

The reason I recommend BART Beadlocks is that they are cheap, yet strong. I have a friend running 37x13x15 boggers on 15x8's, and it kicks ass. Also have another friend running 38x14.50x15's on 15x10" beadlocks and Toy axles! It kicks MAJOR ass because of the GC.

Don't go with a 15x10 and only a 12.50 wide tire. There isn't enough rim protection, and the bead ring will self destruct. Also, with beadlocks, once a week at least, retorque the bolts while the wheel is off the truck. big grin

Dang. That thing is gonna kick ass... I sure hope GY comes out with a 39" MTR before Carnage Continues.

On a side note, would any of the 35" tire+ guys like to do a side run on any of the days? I think Upper and Lower Raw Deal would be a fun 4hrs or so, and afterward, we could make a quick jaunt through Terminator. (Terminator's a REAL quick trail. Not much is tough at all..)

Thanks Mikey, I might ask to give you a call on the phone later this week.

My choices for tires, like Andy pointed out, are going to be a little limited.

I have to use 16 inch rims due to the 8 lug axles?

I'm game for anything you want to show us Mikey. No doubt. Terminator, Raw Deal, President's Choice, Martinez Canyon, you name it.

How do you sleep at night with all this going on? I'm JUST getting into it and man the anxiety is off the hook.

I'll check out those beadlocks tonight at home.

You rule,

I think the main reason to use 16" rims is to clear the brake calipers....not just for the 8 lug hubs.

yeah, you're right about that. Just have gotten used to associating 8 lugs with 16 inch rims. eek

Can't wait to see these new brake calipers up close and check them out...

Matt,

Yeah, I did.A 5.38 which would gear me for a 37 inch tire at 3K rpms at 65 mph.

Perfect. I've double checked everything out with this rear axle and I'm good to go.

The older Patrols or the H237 (?) axle had 10.5 inch ring gear in them. Just being as big as it is has me totally stoked to give a go.
