I was the first user of AC's experimental heim joint steering setup. They've taken it off the market as a result of my real world testing and are currently working on new bombproof setups for Nissan owners.

Here's what happened to it after a high speed sand wash:

Other aftermarket components can fail as well when the stock centerlink goes bad. This is very common on lifted IFS Nissans and could be considered the Achilles' heel of the Nissan world.

This center adjustor is from EOE:

The EOE pieces are made of sturdy stainless steel and are still a great upgrade from the stock 11mm adjustors.

I currently run the Spencer Low Racing Centerlink with stock tierod ends and EOE center adjustors, with an AC Idler arm brace and steering stabilizer. To date I've experienced no issues with the setup.

Look for new aftermarket steering components from AC and Calmini. Both should be on the market soon with solid setups engineered to handle rigorous off road usage.

As a side note...stock ones break too as evidenced by Bama Paul's Frontier during the 2001 AZ Nissan Run.

AC can make a "bombproof" steering set up, but are you sure they can make a "Andy Proof" one? razz I think I'll go start a topic on the SLR steering set up cause I do want to know more about it, even if it doesn't affect me. Anywho, do you have any pics of the SLR set up on your truck? I've seen it on a SLR truck on the XOC, but I want to see more.

No pics yet, but it looks just like the SLR trucks, except I have EOE adjustors and an AC idler arm brace.

We'll get some up in a few days when I can get with John and his digicam.
