We stole one off the lot and went driving on the powerlines...(not really)

I didn't get many pictures but here ya go...

Driveway shots. 2002 Limited 4x4.

Before we left, we had to test out Jim's flex, and show off his Eagles...

More soon...

My flex

On the trail

(He's spinning and almost gets stuck. The driver was to blame...bad line, yet I drove right up in 2wd...)

Coming outa the creek...what's left of it anyways...

And that's it. The verdict: good solid vehicle for those who are in the market for something so dang small. The 3.7L V6 is pretty nice. Spins those street Goodyears with ease. Not my kinda car, but would kick the bootys of the Rav4, CRV, and similar vehicles. Can't really compare it to my truck...:D

The one thing a Liberty has going for it is good approach and departure angles. Downfalls are the inability to fit real rubber, crappy stock tires....5 or 6 recalls so far, the fact that it's ugly....should I go on? The 3.7 V6 seems to have good power tho. If only they'd gear other trucks like Nissans. A factory 4.625 ratio in the axles is about as good as it gets as far as stock gears go.

1998 Frontier 4x4 seriously built
2002 Xterra 4x4 still stock

The dude that owns it tried to argue with me that a 4.10 was "better" than a 4.625...(maybe for racing?)

Front end ground clearance is CRAP, but yes, the angles are pretty good for something so low. Almost like getting a Subaru, cutting the front and rear ends off, and tossing them on the roof.

My last statement didn't make one bit of sense...

I dunno.. give them a few years and people will be doing the same thing with them that we're doing to the Pathfinders and other Nissans. Its all a matter of time until people are doing solid axle swaps on them. smile

I wouldnt own one personally though.

Well, Jeep just wanted to throw their towel in the ring of mommy mobiles. It would take a lot of work to make it a real 4wd. It has nice and bad features but nothing that one would want for a hard-core trail. It made the Rub. But they need to help it along a little (stacking rocks etc.)

If you guys thought the Liberty was low now, just wait. They are now lowering the rear 22mm and the front 19mm because of tendencies to tip over.
