on my way to the movies tonight my motor literaly died for a split second and then cut right back in but had half the power it had before it happend. it did this several times on the way and then on the way home again. being that its midnight i really wasnt able to take a look around. i have totaly replaced the entire ignition system so im pretty sure its not any thing electrical. my next guess is fuel any help would be apprieciated. thanks
oh also its a 86.5 with the 3.0 V6 4x4 with 145k on the clock.
Check all of your connections, including the plugs at the ECU. (Under the passenger seat)
With the engine running and avoiding moving parts, jiggle the wiring harneses a section at a time. Listen for a difference in the way it runs as you go. You may have a faulty ground or connection. Possibly even a broken wire.
Check the vacuum lines while you are digging around under the hood. Especially the line to the fuel pressure regulator.
One question for you: What do you mean by "the whole ignition system"?
replacing the whole igniton means that i replaced dist cap rotor plugs wires coil ingniton controler pretty much all there is to replace .... i dont think its a loose connection but ill check
