Hey guys...I'm new to the forum; just joined.

Recently, I bought a '95 Hardbody XE (king cab, 4wd). Pictures are on my website, click the link. wink Anyway, it has a plastic bedliner in there right now, but I'm concerned about moisture getting underneath and rusting the bed/tailgate.

Places like Advance have those spray-in deals where you literally paint the bedliner into the bed. I can also have it professionally done by outfits like Linex. It's not a dump truck by any means, so if those spray cans will give me a good strong coat for protection from the snow and ice and occassional antique dining table, I'll be fine. wink

I love my truck by the way! It has almost 173,000 miles now and it really runs like a champ. I'd like to change the fluid in both diffs and also the MT oil. That'll be soon.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/experiences!

Herculiner is great stuff for that. You gotta do your prep work right - sanding and then making sure the surface is really clean. Acetone works well for this. Then mask off what you don't want to get the stuff on (like bed rails, etc), and roll it on. A gallon can will be enough to do 2 coats on your entire bed.

I did the outside of my truck in it smile

You can buy it at walmart, pep boys, and lots of other places. Costs $90-100 for the full kit. Plus, buy some sandpaper, as the scratch pad provided is inadequate. Also buy a mixer you can attach to a drill. That'll ensure you get a consistent mix. Herculiner has rubber particles suspended in it, and that's what gives it its no slip surface.

Plus, you do it yourself and save a ton of $$ over the spray in jobs that shops do.

Thanks for the Herculiner tip. I forgot about those roll-on deals. I'll look into that and that's probably what I'll go with.
