Well ive been kicking around a few ideas about new rear shock mounts for my longer shocks and i think ive figured out what im gonna use. I saw in one of the offroad mags about F250 shock mounts as good JY finds so decided to try and find some. They should just bolt right to the fram and give me a higher mount than stock. Hell they may not even work but i think its worth a shot. Opinions?? Comments??

just a thought....
cut the old shock mount off flush with the frame. buy two pieces of channel iron (either 3/8 or 1/4 that'll fit snug on the frame of your truck. weld the channel iron onto the frame line up where your shocks will be, and weld the stub from your old shock mount in the appropriate location. I had this done on my '87 after the old shock mounts rusted away, and it lasted without problems until I sold the truck several years later. (I had it professionally done, because I didn't want to have to worry about it snapping off at an inopportune time.) nissan low res.jpg |
