Long day today.

Long story short Nissan hardbody and pathfinder front spindles do not match. 1994 right pathfinder spindle in question.

Problem- outer tie rod will not fit all the way.

I've fubbed up 2 passenger outer tie rod ends. The diameter of the hole needs to be enlarged to fit properly. Both 94 pathy and 95 hardbody have the same tie rod end p/N.

In the morning I will be picking up a 3rd tie rod end to see if I can make something work. The j/y wants the same price as abc for a spindle. Mandy I’ll be ordering a new right spindle.

Any Ideas guys?

I could swear the tie rod ends were the same part number, you might want to check that. Something's weird.

I believe earlier trucks had a smaller TRE. You may have a spindle from an earlier model. Try a TRE for an '87 model.

I bought a left and right spare spindle off a 94 pathy xe. Both 94 and 95 have the same part number. The extra left spindle I have the tie rod fits perfect.

I installed the right spindle. I need to get a tie rod end to work. Monday I'm putting a right spindle on order from abc(jy wants 100-120, abc wants 156+25% discount).

I looked the part number for an 87. The part is different and there are none in town.

I think I've still got both the spindles from my 91' Hardbody in the garage. They use the smaller TREs.

Everything is the same until you get to the tie rod end. I had a little trouble getting the inner wheel bearing to fit properly.

I think There are slight differences in early and later model year hardbody and pathfinder spindles.

When I receive the correct spindle I'll take measurements. .

I swapped rotors and calipers over from an '88 over to my '93 (when I was still IFS). Bolt on, no issues. I didn't have to deal with TRE though.

Just ordered a right spindle off a 95 4x4 hardbody for 50+30 in shipping. I went with 3rd day delivery so I could get the parts on this weekend. Currently bumming rides to work.

Hardbody Used 2 diff diameter taper tie rod ends.

Moog ES3051&ES3002 are W/Stabilzer*( smaller taper)

ES3075&ES3076 are W/O Stab ( Larger Taper) .... I just went through this crap with my hardbody this weekend. You mix and match to get one RH and one LH thread in each sleeve.

That might have been the issue...

Still wondering why on earth re design the tie rods for that??? MER!!!

In 7/93 they went to a larger OD tie rod end. The spindle I was using I bought from a guy off this board. He had a 94 pathy. At some point in time he must have broken his right spindle and picked up a pre 7/93 spindle.

I went through 1 moog tie rod end and a cheap advance auto tie rod before I gave up and called the junkyard. No parts store had a 87-93 pathy or HB tie rod end. Were a order from the manufacture only. They did not even have one in the where house.

I ordered a used spindle from the junkyard and a new MOOG outer tie rod end. The old tie rod ends are trail spares now.

I knew that a tie rod for a factory steering damper wouldn’t fit but did not know because the ID of tapered hole on the spindle was different. I know you can order the factory damper and brackets from Nissan. The tie rod ends for a steering damper
