my cat is trashed and one of my duals came unhooked, my egr tube has rotted off of my cat, and of course my new hubs should be in this weekend, hopefully it all goes smooth, my gas mileage is horrible! and when downshifting and letting it ride down the tach, the motor sounds like it is backfiring like a mofo! maybe she is too rich? should i advance my timing? this is the third/fourth week, fourht tank of gass on new motor! (newer motor)89!

That backfiring is probably just the exhaust. DocP's did that when we cut his muffler off to put a new one on. Heck, mine does it just a little...

Fix all that stuff and then see.
