What are the truck (1997 4WD, 4cyl, std)operating symptoms of a non functioning air intake temp. sensor? I found a wire off the bottom of the sensor under the air cleaner. I assume it corroded or was pulled off when changing filter? I have been experiencing weird acceleration modulations and the check engine light is on. Thanks in advance......JD

The check engine lite is because of the broken wire. Its a commont thing for those wires to break.

Your truck will run rich and clog up(or ruin)the catalytic converter. This happened to a truck I bought a few years ago. Previous owner didnt replace when wire broke. Put new temp sensor and new cat. and it passed emissions here in Texas.

I have an '89 Nissan Hardbody King Cab with a Chevy truck/Blazer 4" suspension lift and 3" body lift. It will soon have a TBI 350, SM-465 4 speed trans and 208 T-case rounded off with 39" tires.
