Bawl i need to get my trany out so i can rebuild my transmission but the torsion bar crossmember is in the way for me to get it out.if i get the frontend off ground will that raleave the pressure off the bars, so i can just un bolt them? or is there easyer way to get the tranmission out? also my transmission falls out of 1st un less i really hold it up in the gear,3rd,5th falls out when i let off the gas and push on the gas, now 4th falls out when it wants to now but not often. reverse, and 4 wheel drive works like a chram. i did try putting a new transmission mount in no help. is rebuilding a transmission hard? i need a lot of help.also what does sas mean? Welcome to the board. There are many ways of doing the tranny R&R. You will need to untorque the bars to get them off the cross member then pull the corss member. I would go get a chiltons or Haynes manual. They are not the best but it would be a big help in your situation. Although a rebuilt unit would probably be easier albeit more expensive to do. I've never rebuilt the tranny in our trucks but did do a Pulsan NX once. It was not fun without the correct tools. As to the SAS it means Solid axle suspension. Basically rip out every thing up front to the bare frame and trans plant a solid axle in it's place. Using either leaf or coil springs.

rebuilding the transmission shouldn't be too terribly difficult, just remember 1 basic thing, there should be NO left over parts once you rebuild, period. my friend rebuilt a transmission and left out one of the bearings (overlooked it) truck ended up going into reverse everytime he shifted into 2nd, destroyed his tranny.
for the sas there are other suspensions as well such as a 4 link and coilovers.

94 suburban 4x4, plan on a diesel swap with a manual tranny, 6" lift, maybe rear steering
