It takes that long to pressurize.

NO worries- just don't rev it and take off fast

One more question, i didnt want to srart another thread, but where does your temp gauges stay at. Mine stays halfway and tends to go alittle pass the 1/2 way. I know it probaly doesnt help having the original T-stat and coolent. The previous owners never did a thing with this truck.

Mine stays about halfway on warm days.
On cold days it stays below halfway.
When I run the heater it runs a little above half way.

I have an '89 Nissan Hardbody King Cab with a Chevy truck/Blazer 4" suspension lift and 3" body lift. It will soon have a TBI 350, SM-465 4 speed trans and 208 T-case rounded off with 39" tires.

Both of my HB trucks run at the 1/4 mark. If your needle it's close to the 1/2 way mark your t-stat is probably wearing out.

Are the T-stats difficult to change out on the 2.4l? I changed one out on My Firebird before but it looks like a pain to get at on the HB. As i do this it probally wouldnt hurt to put some fresh fluid in there.

The one I have in is like new condition. When I put it in last year, it has run the same since I installed it.

I have a an '89 Pathy V6 (very similar to the hb as we all know)b4 my radiator went bad it kept between 1/2 and 3/4 on hot days (75f+)and about 1/2 on cold days(40f-50f) and about 1/4 below 30f. My replacement was an aulminum radiator w/ plastic cap and base(sill wonder how durable that will be) and temps rarely went over 1/2. but in the winter, below 30f here it takes too long to reach a good op temp (stays @ the bottom line) and as a result my mpg suffers.
so if you live in a place where it gets cold and you need to replace radiator try to find a steel one or thow a blanket over your grill w/ the aluminum one.
