Doing a rotor replacement and I can not get the two screws to move that hold the lock plate for the wheel bearing lock nut. The screws still have the factory paint marks on them and Nissan said that they are on back order for at least a month maybe longer. Has anyone ever used another screw from a hardware store. Don't want to proceed with the rotor replacement till I get some back-up screws in hand. Thanks in advance!

Kevin,

Thanks for the info, just curious if you are speaking from actual experience? Living in the mountains can be frustrating finding what you need to finish a job. There is a home depot up here but i tend not to rely on them for much. I was really hoping to find a screw that has a 2mm/3mm hex to put in there so there wouldn't be and issue with the philips head stripping in the future, plus your already using a 6mm to remove the other part of the hub assembly...

For anyone else that has this issue the part number for the screw is 01414-00051 @ $2.37 ea.

Anyone have the specs on the screw, Nissan parts department did not have that info, still trying to track it down before heading to the hardware store.

After about the 2nd time replacing my rotors I quit reinstalling those screws. I always left my wheel bearing nut torqued. Never had any problems.

I also most likely have those screws. To be safe I would just order them in from Nissan. Try one of our sponsors, ABC Nissan usually can get me all the odd Part numbers I order.

If you do go to the hardware store you will need to look for metric screws. I'm not sure of the thread pitch.
