Well I just inherited my dad's 1987 Nissan Pickup 4x4 V6. He bought it brand new back in 1987 and it's been running strong ever since with 251,000 miles on the clock. This weekend I just changed the oil, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs and plug wires. The truck runs so much better now. I think it was only running on 5 cylinders before since the power difference is so noticeable.
Basically I want to lift the truck just enough to run a wide 33 inch tire. I don't ever off road in it so I'm looking for a lift with the best drivability and the least maintenance. What would you guys do? (besides fix the rust!) What would it take to run a wide 35 inch tire? Anyways, here is a picture of the truck, yes it's rough: |

How about a new truck? Sorry, just joshing... but for 35's you would have major reconstructive surgery including a SAS. But for 33", you could probably get away with a body lift (which is cheapest) and some trimming, but I will have to defer to HB experts on this board. Anyway, congratulations and welcome. --------------------------------------------------------- 04 SAS Frontier, 8" Lift Total, 35x12.5x15 MT's with Staun Internal Beadlockers, Calmini Crawler Gears, ARB Front & Rear Air Lockers. |

Take the body panels off and TUBE IT! or if you want a little less to run 35's go with a TM lift and a BL or Suspension Lift. Solid axle would be the best bet cause that is going to kill the IFS. Gets some bondo too

Shit if you cut the rust out you could probably run 35's as it sits now.

Thank you so much for posting that picture!! Thanks to you, MY truck looks like a gem.
Welcome to N4W. A body lift will do what you are after. Crank up the torsion bars a bit to help that sagging front end. You may still have to trim the back corners of the front fenders, but it depends on your wheel offset. Too much backspacing will lead to frame rub. Stick with 3.75" to 4.00" b.s. |

Does anyone know where I can get some cheap body panels from? Also I was looking at the TM lift a while back, will this cause problems with my steering? I've been reading about how suspension lifts mess up your steering. Sorry I'm such a newb
