Yep, so my girlfriend bought a '93 SE-V6 KingCab 4x4, 5spd, AC, cruise, tilt... The truck is super clean. It only has 91,000 miles... not bad for 10 years old! Needless to say, I'm pretty jealous; her truck is way nicer than mine. The only thing is, the clutch seems to be really soft feeling. The mechanic didn't seem to think it was a problem. It grabs fine and everything, but the pedal feel is just very weak. Is this normal for a V6? My '89 4x4 with the z24i felt stiffer with the original clutch, and after I had it replaced a little while ago at around 150k miles. Anyway, the truck is really really clean, and has never been abused at all, near as I can tell. I need to find a place to host some pictures of it (although I don't think it'll look a whole lot different than any other stock hardbody in good condition). We're both pretty excited about it.

I would suggest changing the brake fluid and bleed the clutch slave cylinder. there may be air in the line causing a soft feel. Also I would consider marrying this gal if she is smart enough to buy a great little truck (might show she's good with money!).Smile

Yep, we're definitely a permanent couple, no 'papers' yet though! She just drove 6 hours to get back home, but is a bit disappointed about the crappy 15 mpg (yep, 15 mpg highway...). After looking around a bit on here and 4x4parts, I figured I might try changing the O2 sensor when I get a chance (that seems to have helped a lot of people's mpg) and she'll probably put a K&N in it too. Maybe check the plugs also to see if she's burning all the fuel possible. Aside from a complete exhaust upgrade or ignition upgrade, does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks.

Go ahead and replace the fuel filter too. It's under the hood. You just gotta get the pressure out of the lines first or else you're gonna get covered in gas Big Grin

I drove from here to Tybee Island, back to Savannah, around town for an hour, over the bridge, rode trails for an hour, then came back, and I was getting about 19.7mpg, and I had all my tools with me too. No engine mods cept for a K&N replacement.

Ya know, I noticed that the engine didn't shift down when i was coming up hills on the highway as much as it used to. I cut off the exhaust pipe just before the last bend. I can't believe that made so much of a difference. Big Grin

Thanks for the info, Will. I think she'll be registered on here in a day or so and be able to waste lots of time just like the rest of us... and maybe get some useful info too.

Wreck? Hell no! Heh heh, you just can't tell it's there because of the sun... look really close. I actually lightened the pic up a bit because the front end in the shadow was too dark... and apparently the back end is too bright now. But anyway, the truck is in pretty much perfect condition. The paint looks brand new (yep, its the original paint too) and so does the interior. The seats are aftermarket, but everything else (except tires!) is exactly how it rolled off the lot in '93.

On a side note... understand that paint isn't really the most important thing to me. Anyone that's seen my truck in person can vouch for that. It's just that when you see a 10 year old vehicle and the original paint is still flawless, it's a pretty good indication that the owner was very kind to it.
