Just had a 1987 D21 Hardbody given to me problem is i needed a new timing chai well i got that figured out up to the point where i install the distributer i dont know where the rotor should face number one intake plug or exhaust plug on the cap the book dont tell me just says number 1 on cap but i have two number ones anyone have a clue

The distributor is keyed of the oil pump drive gear. You can only put the distributor in one way.

Put the oil pump shaft in per the book. There notchs and holes in the shaft.
