Can anyone help me with this problem? I have a 95 XE 4x4 2.4L.I have spent hundreds of dollers on this truck and the nissan dealer has gave up tring to fix it. this truck has a new motor,EGR valve, clutch, oil pump, water pump, fuel pump, all filters, tune up, throttle sencer, coil, o2,new factory tach and probly a few more things i forgot.
The problem starts when you accelerate up to 3500 rpms the truck starts to hesitate and miss. the engine starts to lose power. gas milage is around 19, thats becouse im driving like a old man. the dealer says this truck sould RED LINE on the tach and most of my horse power is in the upper part of the tach. Any help would be great. Thanks |

I just had the same problem. But mine wouldnt rev any higher than 2800-3000 rpm's. I found out my timing chain jumped. I have an original motor in my 91 HB. Timing components were changed about 30,000 miles ago. I jumped it all back into time and now she runs fine. I would double check the timing chain to make sure all is in time. Pull cap off of distributer, pull valve cover, and turn motor to TDC by putting the pointer down on the crank pulley to the appropriate mark. Thats where I would start.
I know you said you have a new motor, but a good place to start. I have an '89 Nissan Hardbody King Cab with a Chevy truck/Blazer 4" suspension lift and 3" body lift. It will soon have a TBI 350, SM-465 4 speed trans and 208 T-case rounded off with 39" tires. |

Everything eveyone else said and
doesn't the engine have a warranty?????????? DOesn't the installer back his work???????????? ..................... "Climate change is no longer science. It's politics... If the dealer has looked it over, I assume that the codes were pulled from the computer and nothing came up. I have had problems with my Air Flow Meter (MAF sensor in todays speak). It would make the engine hesitate, miss, idle weird, etc., but never threw a code.
If you could set up a gauge to read the fuel pressure, you could rule that out and concentrate on electrical issues, which is what I think you have. Scott 86.5 HB SE-V6 KC 4x4 86.5 HB Longbed XE 91 Chevy 1500 Sport |

Another thought, do you have aftermarket dist cap/rotor?? Sometimes at higher rpms they will arc and cause you problems.. Thats why I only use oem
