There are tank sealers That can seal seams/pinholes.. that said , it takes a lot of prep work to get to the point of actually pouring the sealer in and sloshing it around.

First step is to run your tank dry.

FOr now, though, youcould rub some bar soap on the outside. Soap is supposed to be a good trailfix for a leaktank.

Motorcycle shops usually stock a product called KREEM( a tank sealer).. YOur tank is much bigger than a mocycle tank, thouhg, so might want to GOOGLE, "tank sealer" and /or call around local auto parts stores.

JB weld, an epoxy will hold the pressure, if it will seal the gas. It will seal an oil line and it may be worth trying as it may save you from taking off the tank...and if it don't the sealer already mentioned will work like a charm...

Aside from tank sealer only thing you can do is replace the tank. You can have a shop drop the tank and path the hole(s).

The real question here is..Why/How did your tank start leaking in the first place? At work we had an "old" 1999 Chevy pickup that had a leak from the seam of the tank, the mechanics dropped it out and found a dent in the tank and accused me of driving like an idiot. So I argued and said I didn't do that, then after a new tank was installed it developed a leak from the seam of the tank again and when they dropped it out they found yet another dent. This time I was out to prove a point and went down to the shop and showed them that it wasn't anyone doing it. Because if the idiots would have looked at the PLASTIC skid plate they would have seen it was in perfect condition, ie. I didn't run over anything. I told them they needed to check the breather hose that allows air into the tank when it is being emptied. What happened was as we drove the truck all day the fuel was being consummed and air wasn't able to replace the voided space so the atmosphere pressure crushed the tank. Don't beleive; me look it up...all new firetrucks have an automatic valve that allows for this to happen because too many old tanks were crushed while they were hosing a fire down. I've also seen this happen to rail cars when they clean them with steaming hot water, close the hatch and it cools off at night. The atomospheric pressure is tremendous so be careful that this isn't happening to your tank.

well the tank wasn't leaking 2 weeks ago before i moved from Utah to north Carolina. 2 days of driving, non stop and after more than 250 bucks of gas. Once I finally arrived at my new home, 3 days of rest then the leak showed up. I found a guy who would repair my tank by putting new metal sheet liner for my tank. At first the guy want almost 2 grand just for getting pathfinder gas tank. I didn't went for it and went for cheap option by putting the new sheet metal inside my tank. I just hope it won't bite me in my ass with my tight college budget (I goes to college in Charlotte, NC)

So what's he want to line it w/ metal? What does he do,split the tank, weld in new steel and then reassemble/ weld?

The epoxy, pour-in, "liner" will be cheaper on your budget.

For the kind of money you are talking about I would just order a new tank from Nissan and pay a shop to install. Be much easier in the end.
