I just replaced my manual tranny oil 5k ago during the summer months with dino stuff. now that the cold is coming i was thinking of putting redline in it to help with shifting in the morning. i've overfilled the tranny already by tilting the truck on it's side. i probably still have enough room for a quart or two of redline if i go through the shifter or find an even steeper curb.
should i replace all of it with redline - at which is a pretty penny
or,
just put 2 quarts in to help with morning shifting. i live in n. fl. so i don't have to put up with snow and all that.
thanks Wink

Florida, and you're worried about the cold? Just shift it slow for the first few miles if it's notchy- you've got fresh lube in there.

What flavor did you put in?

Good deal.

NOw try this ,when shifting ,if you haven't noticed it already:
The 5-speed seems to shift better( faster, cleaner, quicker) when you trail the throttle ,momentarily,as you depress the clutch peddle to the floor
( to shift up to the next gear).

Your engine rpm's will go up, as you push in the clutch to shift, basically.

It's also good preventive medicine for lazyclutchfootitis smiley37
