Is there any way to fix the drooping speedometer needle that rubs on the face and then doesn't show correct speed?I have a 88 kc 4x4 with 4 cylinder.

Like many others, I broke mine trying ot fix it. I had to glue a new piece of plastic on the stub.
I would suggest laying a piece of sandpaper on the gauge face, grit side up, and gently swinging the needle across it to gain some clearance. It is very fragile from age, so good luck. |

yes! there is! get a 2"x3" piece of .024"-.040" aluminum.(aluminium foil folded over 6 times may work too or a cut out of aluminm siding. open up your dash. silde the aluminum under the needle (to protect your dash) and use a heat gun or hot blow drier to soften the needle. (push on the tail of the needle to keep it way from the bottom peg or you will melt the peg.) as the needle softens pull it up slowly. I pulled mine up about 1mm higher than straight b4 turning of the heat. slide the aluminum out but keep holding the needle untill it cools. after about a week my 1mm over bent needle had gone to perfectly straight and has stayed that way for about a year so far. =================================== mostly stock(for now) '89 Pathfinder XE over 212k and running good! Python Performance Injectors, HEI coil Thorley Headders & Magnaflow High Flow Cat w/ 2" turn down in rear wheelwell. HB Manual Locking hubs |

I sanded, warmed it up to take out some of the bend and also put a small screw driver underneath the needle and slid the needle up the shaft a little... so far all is good
